Co-founded by Matt Mullenweg, WordPress is the world’s leading CMS (Content Management System) and currently powers over 40% of the leading websites. The software has enabled millions of people to have an online presence and powers enterprise sites like NASA, Rolling Stone, and Taylor Swift. 

What is Five for the Future?

Five for the Future, a WordPress initiative by Matt Mullenweg, is a call to action.  It urges agencies and companies benefiting from the free and open-source platform to give back by dedicating 5% of their resources to WordPress development. Matt introduced this benchmark in 2014 to maintain a “golden ratio” of contributors to users, underscoring the importance of community contributions.

JetBackup’s active participation in the Five for the Future initiative is a testament to our dedication to the WordPress and open-source community. Our team is committed to contributing to five key areas: core team, Hosting, Plugin Review, Themes, and WP-CLI. This involvement will ensure JetBackup remains at the forefront of WordPress development and discussion, enabling us better to serve the needs of our JetBackup for WordPress users.
