A Conversation with the IpHost Team

Every long-standing hosting company has a story behind it. For IpHost, that story began more than 20 years ago in a small office with two servers, three people, and a clear commitment to customers.

Since then, IpHost has grown into one of the leading hosting providers in Greece, while keeping the same mindset that shaped the company from the beginning: reliable hosting, personal support, and genuine care for the people and businesses behind every account.

As part of the JetBackup Partner Spotlight series, we spoke with Charalampos Toulkaridis and Andriani Prokopiou of IpHost about their journey, what customers value most, why backups are central to their hosting strategy, and where they see the industry heading next.

Tell us about IpHost. How did you get started in hosting?

“More than 20 years ago, in a small office with just two servers and a team of three people, IpHost started its journey in the hosting industry.

With a lot of dreams, hard work, and genuine care for both our customers and our people, we gradually grew into one of the leading hosting providers in Greece.

Even after all these years, we keep the same mindset and passion that we had on day one.”

IpHost’s story is built on steady growth rather than shortcuts. The company has expanded over the years, but the foundation remains the same: care for customers, investment in people, and a commitment to providing dependable hosting services.

What market, niche, or geographic region do you primarily serve?

“Most of our customers are based in Greece, but our services are available worldwide and we also support customers from many other countries.

No matter where someone is located, our goal is always the same: to provide reliable hosting and personalized support.”

While IpHost has deep roots in the Greek market, its approach applies well beyond one region. Customers everywhere need stable infrastructure, responsive support, and a provider that takes the time to understand their needs.

What makes IpHost different from larger, more generic providers?

“Our goal has always been to provide solutions and expert support, not just plain hosting services. We want our customers to see us as a reliable partner they can turn to whenever they face a problem or challenge.

That is why we always try to help, even when the issue is not directly hosting-related. Many times, we have logged into customers’ backends to help identify performance issues or delays, even though we are not developers ourselves.

We simply care enough to try and help wherever we can.”

That willingness to go beyond the basic scope of hosting is what often separates relationship-driven providers from generic platforms. IpHost’s team focuses on being useful when customers need help, even if the problem does not fit neatly into a standard support category.

What was the first customer, project, or moment that made you think, “We are really building something here”?

“Probably the moment when both our customer base and support requests started growing so much that we had to move to a more advanced ticketing platform and expand our team to keep up.

That was when we realized we were building something much bigger than we initially imagined.”

Growth brings operational pressure, but it also shows that customers are choosing to stay, expand, and rely on the service. For IpHost, scaling the team and support systems was a clear signal that the company had become something larger and more lasting.

What do your customers value most about working with your team?

“Definitely our support and overall customer care.

The IpHost team always tries to help, solve problems, and be available when customers need us.

People appreciate knowing that there is a real team behind the service that genuinely cares about their websites and businesses.”

For IpHost customers, the value is not only in the hosting platform itself. It is in knowing that a real team is available, responsive, and committed to helping protect the websites, applications, and businesses they depend on.

How do backups fit into your overall hosting strategy?

“Backups are one of the core features we promote across all our hosting solutions. They are also one of the most critical services we monitor around the clock to ensure everything runs smoothly.

We always emphasize to our customers how important it is to maintain a complete and reliable backup schedule.

In hosting, backups are not optional anymore. They are essential.”

IpHost treats backups as part of the foundation of modern hosting. When websites, data, and email are business-critical, having a reliable backup schedule is not just a technical best practice. It is part of protecting the customer relationship.

Why did you choose JetBackup as part of your backup offering?

“We chose JetBackup because it is extremely efficient and user-friendly, especially when it comes to partial data restore.

In environments with large amounts of data or many shared hosting accounts on the same server, JetBackup provides end users easy access to their backups and allows them to restore only the specific data they need without affecting the rest of their account.

That flexibility is very important.

At the same time, incremental backup schedules help save a significant amount of storage space, which makes the solution both reliable and efficient.”

For hosting providers managing shared environments and large volumes of customer data, restore flexibility matters. JetBackup gives IpHost a way to provide customers with easy access to their backups while also helping the provider operate efficiently at scale.

Has backup or restore capability ever helped you protect a customer, recover from an issue, or avoid a serious incident?

“Absolutely. We have experienced cases where a customer’s dedicated cPanel server went completely offline because of hardware failure.

In those situations, we were able to quickly deploy a new cPanel server and fully restore all hosted accounts using the existing JetBackup destination and configuration.

Because we always make sure to securely back up the JetBackup configuration and key, the recovery process becomes much faster and smoother during critical incidents.”

This is where backup strategy becomes operational resilience. A hardware failure can quickly become a major incident, but having a tested restore path, preserved configuration, and the right backup destination in place allows a provider to recover faster and reduce customer impact.

Where do you see the hosting industry going over the next three years?

“Everything is becoming AI-oriented, so we believe the hosting industry will continue moving toward more AI-driven, highly secure, cloud-based solutions.

At the same time, customers will continue expecting faster and more reliable support, better automation, and stronger security from their providers.”

As the hosting industry evolves, the expectations placed on providers will continue to rise. Customers will want faster responses, stronger protection, smarter automation, and cloud-based services that are easier to manage without sacrificing reliability.

What is next for IpHost?

“Our goal is simple: to become the first choice for anyone looking to build or host their website.

We continuously work on improving our infrastructure, services, and support experience so we can provide top-quality hosting combined with customer care that truly stands out.”

That focus gives IpHost a clear path forward. The company is continuing to invest in the same areas that helped it grow in the first place: stronger infrastructure, better services, and support that customers can trust.

A Hosting Partner Built on Care, Reliability, and Recovery

IpHost’s story is a reminder that hosting companies are built one customer relationship at a time.

From a small office with two servers to one of Greece’s leading hosting providers, IpHost has grown by staying focused on dependable service, personal support, and a willingness to help customers beyond the basics. That same mindset shapes their approach to backups.

For IpHost, backups are not optional. They are a critical part of protecting customers, maintaining continuity, and recovering quickly when something goes wrong. Whether the issue is accidental data loss, a failed system, or a dedicated server outage, a reliable restore path can make the difference between a serious disruption and a controlled recovery.

At JetBackup, we are proud to support hosting providers like IpHost that combine reliable infrastructure with customer care and a strong commitment to keeping businesses online.
